a Professor of Law and currently the Head of Department, Private and Business Law, at Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria. He is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators (NICArb). A former Chief Magistrate in the Akwa Ibom State Judiciary, Prof. Idem teaches Criminal Law, Introduction to Legal Practice, Law of Evidence, Company Law, Human Rights Law, Banking and Insurance Law, International Human Rights Law, and Comparative Criminal Law at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His academic interests include Criminal Law, Corporate Law, Evidence, and Labour Relations. He holds a Ph.D. in Commercial, Corporate and Public Law from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, as well as LL.M and LL.B degrees from the University of Uyo. He also earned his BL from the Nigerian Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos State in 1998. Prof. Idem is a prolific scholar, authoring two books and numerous articles in reputable journals. He is a member of various professional bodies and serves as a reviewer for several academic journals.
